AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy has impaled his scrotum on a 5cm stick after falling off a tree – missing his testicles by millimetres. The youngster, from Makassar in Indonesia, lost his footing while climbing a two-metre trunk. Urology Case ReportsThe x-ray showed the stick impaled into his genitalia[/caption] Doctors revealed pierced his private parts with a branch. The boy was taken to hospital four hours after the accident, the journal of Urology Case Reports described. Grisly pictures showed the stick had penetrated the bottom left of his scrotum and reached his pubic bone.  Doctors scanned the area to confirm his testicles weren’t damaged before removing the stick. Medics gently prised the stick out and gave him antibiotics, and a tetanus vaccine to help stop him developing an infection. He said: “Life changing injury could occur if the penetrating object were to pass through the urethra, the testis or the penis.  “Other structures at risk, had the object passed within the abdomen would be the bladder, the small and large bowel, and major arteries and veins. “All of these injuries could have had life-long consequences for this patient.” Such injuries are rare, but disturbing footage previously showed how a man was skewered by a huge metal pole going up his bum and into his chest. He was seen writhing in pain on a hospital bed and covering his eyes as medics assess his gruesome injury. And a builder was also once impaled on a metal rod that went up his backside and narrowly missed his heart after falling from a construction platform. The unnamed 22-year-old was working on a building site in the city of Huzhou in eastern China when he fell almost 13 feet onto the rebar.
