MEXICAN soap star Carmen Salinas has died aged 82 after suffering a stroke, her family said. Her loved ones announced her passing in a statement saying she had died yesterday after being rushed to hospital in Mexico City. On Thursday, her nephew Gustavo Briones said she was being treated in intensive care. Later, her daughter, Maria Eugenia Plascencia, told local media outside the hospital that she talked to her mother who had been able to move her feet. The 82-year-old actress remained in a medically induced coma before passing away. Salinas began her career in comedic soap operas and became known to Mexican viewers for her portrayal of the character La Corcholata in ‘Bellas de Noche’.
