A “DRUNK” Russian soldier is in line for a rocket after rolling a £400million missile defence system into a roadside ditch. The high-tech S-400 anti-aircraft rocket launcher veered off a highway while driving in convoy with other army vehicles in the Tula region of Russia yesterday. Local media reported the vehicle carrying the system fell right on top of the missiles, but the deadly ammunition didn’t deploy. The vehicle veered away from it’s eight car convoy before flipping directly on top of the missiles. Baza, a popular Russian Telegram channel, posted: “The vehicle was overturned, but the brakes of the car turned out to be broken, so they decided to leave it in place (under the protection of the police and military).” The driver – who broke his arm – failed a breathalyser test at the scene, The Telegram channel claimed. He could be prosecuted under Russian law, which states damage on a military property through negligence is punishable by up to 10 years. The S-400 can engage aircraft and cruise missiles, as well as a ballistic missile defence capability. The system is a four vehicle surveillance and missile launch system. It boasts a long-range surveillance radar vehicle, command vehicle, engagement radar vehicle and a launch vehicle. The radar tracks a potential target, and relays information to the command vehicle – then a target is then identified, and missiles are launched. The embarrassing event comes after Putin deployed multiple air defence systems around Moscow as fears of his regime toppling continue to increase. Pantsir-S1 and S-400 defence systems have been positioned on rooftops across the capital, which are designed to intercept missiles and aircraft. Humiliated Putin appears to be frantically bolstering defence measures in the city, terrified of being wiped out as his calamitous invasion rages on. Other reports have revealed Russian soldiers are too drunk to fight in Ukraine – and the alcohol they’re drinking may be the reason they’re dying in droves. Putin’s army has been struggling in Ukraine – making very few meaningful gains and now fighting grinding battles in the east. British intelligence has now said “alcohol abuse” is likely linked to the military’s poor performance as it continues it’s onslaught in Ukraine. They cited reports of an “extremely high” number of incidents, crimes and deaths linked to drunkenness amongst Putin’s men.
