A PHOTO of Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein kissing has been shown at her sex trafficking and abuse trial. The 59-year-old socialite is alleged to have “served up” young girls to former lover Epstein to abuse and also allegedly participated in some of the attacks. Maxwell’s trial has been told Maxwell and Epstein had been in a relationship but remained “the best of friends” after they split. Prosecutors have described them as being “partners in crime” in the abuse of girls. The couple shared a bedroom at the Palm Beach mansion, with Maxwell helping in the running of the property. Prosecutors released more than 60 images from a police raid at a the infamous property as part of the case. They are depicted in various states of undress, prosecutors have said. The photographs also show several areas of Epstein’s eight-storey mansion, including the massage room where he allegedly sexually abused girls. During the raid, large safe containing more binders of CDs, cash, computer hard drives, diamonds and passports was found. FBI agents left the house to obtain a warrant for the safe, but when they returned four days later everything from the safe was gone. The items were later returned in two suitcases by one of Epstein’s lawyers and the safe was later found buried in a closet. At the end of last week, a massage table seized from Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion was brought into court. The video and pictures were taken during a search of the mansion – which has been dubbed the “House of Sin” – during the 2005 investigation into Epstein. But after being invited to her home in Belgravia, central London, the teen gave massages to Epstein, where he initiated sex acts, the New York court heard. Prosecutors claim the interior of Epstein’s mansion is proof of a sexualized atmosphere encouraged by Maxwell to put pressure on the victims. It appears to be a now-famous photo of her lying on a beach, and above it there is a framed portrait of her hanging on the wall. The evidence was presented over the objection of the defence, with Maxwell’s lawyer saying it was an attempt to unfairly depict the house as a “domicile of debauchery”. Elsewhere in the mansion, you can see paintings of nude women hanging on the wall – with a bare bum visible in one, and two naked women lying on a bed in the other. A photo of a seemingly naked woman is also seen hanging on a door between the two sketches. And meanwhile, in pictures of one of the bedrooms you can see boxes of tissues sitting on beside tables. During the final session of the first week of the trial, jurors were shown Epstein’s massage table, which was seized in the raid. Prosecutors have said the multi-millionaire financier’s abuse of teenage victims began as massages before escalating, with the term used as a ruse to get girls to touch him. Convicted sex offender Epstein killed himself while awaiting trial for further sex trafficking charges in August 2019. Maxwell was arrested suddenly in July 2020 – and has been held in prison ever since as she was deemed a flight risk.
