Horror scratches show where my dog fought for its life as it was accidentally strangled…I blame myself for tragic error

UPSETTING video shows the horrid aftermath of a dog’s death after he strangled himself on his owner’s bra. The viral video shows user @aww_its_megan filming her door and zooming in on large scratch marks before cutting to an image of her old white dog. The video is captioned with: “Tonight I am painting over the door which showed his struggle. “I’ll feel guilty for the rest of my life.” The horror scratches start just above the doorknob and go down to the very bottom of the door. Rerun, likely fought for its life as it caused the scratches as it was being strangled by the bra. The soft-coated Wheaten Terrier was regularly seen on Megan’s TikTok with the most recent video showing the dog playing with her husband before head-butting him in the crotch. Megan can be heard laughing in the video taken, August 6, just six weeks before Rerun tragically died. Since the accidental death on September 16, no videos have been posted on her account. The comments on the video show support to Megan with many talking about their own similar experiences. TikTok user Daysidarling said: “My dog passed a few years ago for something I could’ve avoided. “Be kind to yourself, let the guilt go, they never want to see you suffer.” When replying to a comment Megan said that she’s hung her bra on the door handle every day for 20 years. She did say that she’s at least glad that she can spread awareness of the dangers of leaving choking hazards around your pets. Megan blames herself for the tragic error but the comments were showing her heaps of love and support. Many thanked Megan for telling them about this, as leaving a bra or other clothing on door handles is a normal thing for some women. Another user Mariapedroaguirre sent a heartfelt message under the video saying: “I wanted to thank you for sharing this. “You will save lives for generations to come. “I’m sorry you have to relive to make others aware. “I love you.” Followed by a red love heart Megan is a mum of one with her husband and is a speech language pathologist. Earlier this year Kim Reid, 24, issued a warning to animal lovers after her healthy dog died while snoozing in the shade. Bruno, the French bulldog died of heatstroke in the back garden. That came after vets urgently warned dog owners to keep their dogs away from blue green algae after two dogs and two puppies tragically died. The algae contains toxins, which is more than likely to have attacked the dog’s livers, according to experts.
