THE US Coast Guard has revealed that a “debris field” has been found in the search for the missing Titanic tourist submarine. The vessel, named Titan, vanished on Sunday about 435 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland, during a voyage to the Titanic shipwreck off the coast of Canada. Now there is believed to be no breathable air left on board. The 6.7m (22ft)-long OceanGate Expeditions vessel, which has British billionaire adventurer Hamish Harding on board, reportedly had a 96-hour oxygen supply in case of emergencies. Also in the undersea craft are UK-based businessman ShahzadaDawood and his son Suleman, OceanGate’s chief executive and founder Stockton Rush and French submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet. On Thursday, the US Coast Guard revealed that “a debris field was discovered within the search area by an ROV near the Titanic. Experts within the unified command are evaluating the information.” Follow our missing Titanic submarine blog for updates...
