THE US Coast Guard has found debris from the missing submersible, according to a friend of two crew members on board. The vessel, named Titan, vanished on Sunday about 435 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland, during a voyage to the Titanic shipwreck off the coast of Canada. Now there is believed to be no breathable air left on board. In the undersea craft are UK-based billionaire adventurer Hamish Harding, businessman ShahzadaDawood and his son Suleman, OceanGate’s chief executive and founder Stockton Rush and French submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet. On Thursday, the US Coast Guard revealed that “a debris field was discovered within the search area by an ROV near the Titanic. Experts within the unified command are evaluating the information.” In an interview with Sky News, a friend of two of the missing men said the debris found was a “landing frame and rear cover from the submersible,” according to a WhatsApp message he received on-air.
