Mum and dad are seen twerking at the camera, taking their eyes off the young girl for a matter of seconds before she falls face down into the sea. The mum quickly notices the youngster struggling before her partner scoops her up and she begins to cry. The footage reads: “Trigger warning: This is an example of how fast it can happen. “We were having at the Bahamas & this happened. “Lesson learned!” The clip was also posted with the caption: “She got scared but she’s good. “The water was waist lenght [sic], we were looking left the whole time & in a matter of a second she fell.” Many were quick to question why the young girl was not wearing armbands. One commented: “She should’ve had floaties or a life vest.” Another added: “No floaties? I always had floaties on my daughter when she was that age.” Other hit out at the parents for taking their eyes off the youngster to perform their sexy dance routine in the sea. One asked: “No one gonna talk about what they were doin.” Another said of the child: “I think she was trying to twerk too. She was just too little and couldn’t touch the ground.” Others jumped in to defend the parents, and hit back at others for being “dramatic”. One said: “Lifeguard here – from the bottom of my heart, this is AMAZING parenting.” Another said: “People acting like mistakes never happen…they are acknowledging and spreading awareness. “They aren’t bad parents.” And another said: “She was underwater for three seconds she’s fine.” Lilly has since uploaded several follow-up videos that include the youngster wearing a life vest and learning to swim. She defended herself by saying that her daughter had been learning to swim since she was born but that it takes time for youngsters to become confident. She also hit out comments from a TikTok follower who slammed the mum for twerking and told her to “pay attention” to her kids. She responded: “Your lack of comprehension and observation is incredible…” In another video, she replied: “The negative comments do not change the fact that I know I am an excellent mother learning each day from my mistakes. “I respect your opinions, but you’re wasting your time if you think it affects me.” The Sun recently spoke with lifeguard Tarryn Brown who gave an urgent warning to Brits ahead of the holiday season. She said: “The most important thing is to only swim where there are lifeguards. “Water may look nice and calm but underneath there could be currents, and there could be snag hazards. “We see it all the time where people go swimming in canals or water with no lifeguards and they’ve been getting themselves into trouble. “People should also only go swimming between 10am and 6pm because that is when lifeguards are on duty.” The RNLI lifeguard shared her expert advice for staying safe in the sea if you do go to the beach this bank holiday weekend.
