Mum’s horror as daughter, 11, is crushed to death after falling from carnival float in front of her

A MUM was left horrified after her 11-year-old daughter was crushed to death in a freak carnival float accident. The fatal incident happened last week after the young girl fell from the colourful float during the festivities in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Doctors told how she bravely fought on for 36 hours before eventually succumbing to internal bleeding on Friday. On the opening night of the carnival, the young girl had left her mum and climbed atop a float leaving the main Sambadrome parade area. However, she reportedly fell and was left sandwiched between the EM Cima de Hora samba float and a pole as horrified by-standers looked on. The previous year, the festival went ahead as coronavirus was still just at its early stages of devastation but crowds were restricted. Normally celebrated in February, the parade this year was delayed by two months as Omicron took hold of Brazil. But amid its long awaited resumption last Wednesday, revellers were visibly elated as celebrations continued through the weekend.
