Senate Majority Leader Schumer Tees Up Vote to Increase Debt Limit Without GOP Support

On Monday, Senate Republicans voted to block legislation which would raise the debt ceiling to avoid an impending government shutdown and possible default on US debt, with GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell saying his party would "not provide" votes "for raising the debt limit."
