Two killed at Abba tribute gig after man falls seven floors killing concert-goer below

TWO people have died and another has been injured after an elderly man fell seven floors at an Abba tribute concert. The man, who was in his 80s, fatally wounded another after landing in the open foyer on the ground floor just 30 minutes before the gig was due to start at the Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, Stockholm, Sweden. Reports from the MailOnline suggest that authorities quickly cordoned off the areas as witnesses were interviewed before being allowed to return home. Police spokesman Magnus Jansson Klarin told AFP: “We received a call about someone having either jumped or fallen from a high altitude inside the concert hall in central Uppsala.” In a statement posted online late on Tuesday police added that they “currently had no reason to think a crime had been committed in relation to the man’s fall.” The BBC later reported that 1,000 people had been gathered ahead of the gig in the Swedish capital – that was due to honour legends Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson with covers of some of their greatest hits. However, in light of the night’s tragic events, the concert was cancelled. What we know is that someone jumped [or] fell high in the arena and hit other people,” the company said. “Right now we don’t know much more, everyone is in shock.” The incident comes just days before Abba are due to release their first new album in more than 40 years on Friday.
