Ukraine claims 200,000 Russian soldiers have been killed – with one dying every THREE MINUTES since Putin’s invasion

UKRAINE have claimed they have killed 200,000 Russian soldiers since the start of Putin’s invasion. The staggering figure would mean one of Vladimir Putin’s soldiers has died every three minutes since the invasion on February 24, 2022. AFPVladimir Putin is facing a horrendous rate of attrition in Ukraine[/caption] Kyiv’s exact figures have to be taken with a pinch of salt – but Western intelligence agrees the Russians have suffered horrific attrition rates. Some 200,000 deaths would mean that Russia have lost approximately 13,300 soldiers a month, 3,250 troops a week, 450 men a day, 20 every hour, or one every three minutes. Bloody trench warfare, street-by-street fighting, and soldiers pouring across shell-pitted No Man’s Lands have come to define the war in Ukraine. The bloody, muddy scenes are not what many had expected of a war in the 21st Century. And the war has now lasted some 447 days, despite Putin originally announcing his so-called “special military operation” would only last two weeks. Releasing the figures this morning, the Ukrainian General staff said: ” Strike the occupier – let’s win together Our strength is in the truth.” It is not just soldiers Vlad is losing in droves however – with Ukraine also claim to have destroyed thousands of Russian vehicles and hundreds of aircraft since the invasion. Once again – the figures have be treated with scepticism, but Putin was humiliated last week when his annual “Victory Day” parade – a chance for him to flex his military muscles – featured a single tank. And the tank was a ceremonial T-34 relic from the 1940s. Ukraine claims to have destroyed nearly 4,000 tanks – nearly half of Russia’s entire combat ready arsenal. They also boast to have blitzed approximately 7,400 armoured vehicles, 3,200 artillery systems, 570 rocket launchers, 600 helicopters and planes, and 2,700 drones. Ukrainian figures meanwhile believe the Ukrainians have lot approximately 17,500 men – with more than 100,000 wounded. Other estimates from the West have put the Russian death toll at around 60,000 with around 200,000 total casualties. But it appears Putin’s army has fared incredibly badly by any metric. There have been numerous humiliating defeats throughout the war with Ukraine – and any illusions about the combat effectiveness of the Russians have been shattered. Much of the fighting continues to focused around Bakhmut – with Ukraine claiming gains as they push back the Russian mercenary company, the Wagner Group. Vlad and his generals had expected to steamroller Ukraine in days – but it became very obvious very quickly that was not going to happen. Despite hurtling towards Kyiv in the first days of the invasion, they were thrown back and are now bogged down in the East. And now the future of his regime appears to be linked to the war’s success or failure. Western nations continue to face pressure to give the Ukrainians more weapons. Ukraine are expected to launch a counter-offensive to dislodge the Russians across the frontline. But it’s unclear if this will be enough operation to totally end the war and finally defeat Russia. Zelensky on a visit to UK on Monday won the promise of hundreds more missiles and drones. He continues to call for Western fighter jets – something he believes is key to finally defeating the Russians. After meeting UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Zelensky said he was “very positive” about creating a “jets coalition”. Western nations have balked so far at providing advanced jets to help Ukraine take command of the skies against Russia, although Sunak said the UK was preparing to open a flight school to train its pilots. France, too, has now offered to train Ukrainian fighter pilots, President Emmanuel Macron said in Paris, but he ruled out sending war planes to Kyiv. Russia said the new UK weapons would only cause “further destruction”. And they claimed to have downed a Storm Shadow cruise missile that Britain said last week it was providing, in the West’s first deployment of long-range rocketry for Ukraine. “The front lines of Putin’s war of aggression may be in Ukraine but the fault lines stretch all over the world,” said Sunak. “We must not let them down.” Sunak hosted Zelensky in the same Chequers room used by Britain’s World War II leader Winston Churchill to broadcast defiant speeches vowing victory over the Nazis.
