Ukraine news latest — Tensions across Russia rise ahead of Victory Day as Moscow launches new assault on Kyiv

UKRAINE was hit with fresh strikes from Russia in the early hours of Monday leaving some civilians “killed and wounded,” the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reports. Russia launched 16 missile strikes, 61 airstrikes and had 52 instances of enemy shelling while Ukraine destroyed all 35 Iranian-made Shaed drones. The attacks were made in Kyiv, in the Black Sea city of Odesa where a food warehouse and a “recreation area” were hit while a warehouse in occupied Zaporizhzhia was also destroyed. The attacks come ahead of Russia’s Victory Day tomorrow, where Vladimir Putin will remind his people of when Soviet Russia won over Nazi Germany during the military parade taking place in Moscow‘s Red Square.
