Uproar as Movie 'Glorifying' Gandhi's Killer Set to Be Released on Anniversary of Mahatma's Death

Mahatma Gandhi, an icon of India's struggle for freedom, also known as the Father of the Nation, was assassinated on 30 January 1948 in New Delhi at the age of 78 by a Hindu nationalist, Nathuram Vinayak Godse. The man did not try to escape and was arrested. He was sentenced to death on 8 November 1949.
