TWO US strategic bombers have been involved in a tense mid-air standoff over the Baltic with a Russian fighter jet. The B-1B bombers are said to have been flying towards the Russian border, according to the National Defence Control Centre, which is part of the Russian Defence Ministry, today. A Su-27 fighter jet from the Baltic Fleet was scrambled into the air.
