A skill that could make you rich. Scroll down to see the gold revealed in the photo. The gold was found on the Mahoney’s gold mining farm near Kalgoorlie, West Australia, last week. The expensive find is made even more impressive as the nugget was covered in red soil meaning it didn’t shine and stand out as you’d expect. On a video posted to Tyler’s TikTok she shows off the gold in her hand saying her dad “made $2,500 before breakfast.” The chunk they found is around 25 grams making it a large amount of gold seeing as most precious metals are found in small flakes. The actual name of the mineral is an alluvial gold nugget, meaning it was forced to the surface from its original spot over thousands of years making it a lucky find. The nugget’s high value is about the same amount the family would make in a good day, leaving them beyond happy. The onetime model, 27, has become the face of modern gold mining in Australia and has over 188,000 TikTok followers and 113,000 Instagram followers. She’s also just written a book about her life cleverly titled Gold Digger. It tells of a male-dominated industry rife with discrimination and workplace sexual harassment including women being asked to bend over. Also revealed is the extraordinary lengths treasure hunters struck with gold fever will go in search of untold riches buried deep below the ground. She told The Daily Mail: “It is such a dopamine rush, it’s quite addictive, hence the gold fever. “It’s like when you win the lotto or on a scratchy – a big rush of excitement. ‘It’s even more exciting when it’s your income and you’re only making as much as you’re finding.” Mahoney is a fourth-generation prospector whose great-grandfather Ned started the farm and has a large patch named after him on the Murchison goldfields of Western Australia. Tyler’s mum once found a nugget that fetched a jaw-dropping £51,320 as the treasure weighed 311.8g. Earlier this year, a prospector who claims he struck gold near a major UK city is keeping the treasure’s location secret. Andy Brooke, 37, said he found specks of the precious metal in a stream to the south of Birmingham. Now he plans to go back to see if he can find the source of the gold, which could be worth a fortune.
